Birth Centre
The Birth Centre has eight birthing rooms,two birthing pools, and six inflatable pools.
Facilities include: dimmed lighting; 1-to-1 care in labour; birthing stools; flotation aids; mattresses
Private rooms are available.
Delivery Suite
The Delivery Suite has 15 birthing roomsand one birthing pool.
Facilities include: wireless monitoring; bereavement suite; Pool room and larger delivery rooms for women with complex pregnancies; specialised large room for women with multiple pregnancies; two obstetric theatres; Telemetry.

The postnatal wards have 46 beds. Partners are welcome to stay overnight.
Home birth
Home birth are available for women who live in the Queen’s Hospital area. Each community midwife team provides cover for the home birth service at Queen’s Hospital – we also have eight waterbirth pools which are supplied for home births.
There are discussions being held about the possibility of a home birth team. With the implementation of the better birth teams, this will aim to increase home births. There is a homebirth lead and you can contact her on 07967 713457. Please note this number is for only within normal working hours.
